Dental Therapist

A dental therapist is a practitioner qualified to provide dental and hygiene treatments within their scope of practice. Under current regulations you do not need to see a dentist first if that is more appropriate for you.

Traditionally, therapists have worked in the Community Dental Services, but their role has now expanded to work in General Practice. The role of a therapist, like a hygienist, is to support dentists in providing quality dental care.

Elizabeth Dearing trained at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London from 1999-01 and has been working at Golding House since April 2004 as both a hygienist and dental therapist.
